WANNABE UPSCALE SOCIAL VENUE. The owners of this dance club and surrounds (they also own adjacent Sip & Twirl, and Hotel Ciele as well as the restaurant adjoining the hotel) want to impress visitors with the venues' "classy" exteriors. But, classy, these venues are not! You'll quickly realize this when nature calls and you have to use a bathroom. In the Pavilion, there are only 2 small bathrooms. They are filthy, and each has only one stall. The doors of the stalls do not have locks! So people can just open the door during your private moment. Moreover, the stalls do not have toilet paper. It's not only that there is no toilet paper. The toilet paper holder was missing as well! If you did not bring your own tissue, I guess they expect you would just have to walk around with a smelly,dirty butt! There is one small bathroom behind Sip & Twirl and 3 filthy portable toilets behind the restaurant (no bathroom in the restaurant!). Grossly inadequate bathroom facilities are the rule in the Pines (and in the Grove as well). It makes you wonder; what were the owners thinking when they designed these social venues. Don't they realize that most of the several hundreds of visitors to Fire Island on any given weekend summer day are day trippers? Common sense dictates that if the owners want their visiting patrons' business, they must accommodate their basic needs. So, be forewarned, if you don't have a place to stay on that island, don't bother visiting. I know I won't.
