B e w a r e / N e w - O w n e r s h i p / T E R R I B L E !. T E R R I B L E !!! New owners ruined the place. The atmosphere is all gone, along with the great service & " DELMONICO STEAKS" & charm. It was replaced with EXTREMELY LOUD rock & roll, as in Led Zeppelin, & The who, loud ( couldnt have a conversation, not that I don't like that music, I love it, but there is a time & place for it, NOT AT A ROMANTIC DINNER BY THE FIREPLACE at what used to be a high end, top notch, fine dining facility. Save your money, don't go you will be very dissapointed. Lame pub style menu, pub style music, & attitude. The name has not changed, but EVERYTHING else your used to from the past has. S H A M E on them for being able to keep the name from 1956, including a long tradition & destroy it's reputation. Both Thumbs down !!!! This will be posted EVERYWHERE I possibly can, so people know it's NOT the "OLD" OLD FIELDS INN we all knew NOT EVEN CLOSE !!! P.S you can only ride the coat tails of greatness for so long,
Great Steaks! 100% better than Charlie Brown's , Outback , etc!. I love this place. I come here about once a month or more if I can. The staff is very friendly, the service is quick - and best of all the steaks are great, and comparably inexpensive ($25-$30). They offer approx. 6 different cuts of steak, and you can get them marinated or non. I highly reccommend the marinated. I am not sure what is in their marinade, as it is their secret. It definitely gives the steaks a wonderful flavor, that leaves them slightly charbroiled on the outside and cooked to perfection on the inside. The server always double checks to see if the steak is cooked the way you like it, and if not they take it back no questions asked, no attitude. I recommend the Delmonico steak - seems to be the leanest and tastiest cut, and the most for your money (I think it is 16 oz.). The filet mignon is also wonderful, while I am not a big fan of the Sirloin (here or elsewhere) as it tends to be fatty. The side dishes are average - although I am not a fan of their creamed spinach. They seem to be very good with large parties, including children. The only thing bad thing I can say about this place is that the decor may need a little bit of updating. One of my favorites!
