Great little known restaurant. Oyster Bay is a quiet town, so I'm not suprised that this restaurant isn't well know by people who aren't close to town. Il Piatto has consistantly good food. The steaks are on my favorites list. Diego the bartender is excellent and will give you the best recommendation for dinner. If you haven't tried it yet, put it on your list. Regarding thr reviews about bad service, you can get a bad or a new waiter in any restaurant on any given day. Personally, I've never had a problem with service here....and they do get some great bands here too.

Deceptively good. We commented on how small it looked from the outside and were surprised at how sprawling the restaurant really is. Catherine was an excellent server and we enjoyed her expertise and attention. The pasta dish was nice and the chicken was also tasty. The cuisine was nothing extraordinary but fresh and savory. I would recommend to those who want to go out for a nicely priced, cozy dinner out.

Excellent Food. The food is excellent; two of my favorites are the veal chop and lamb chops. The service leaves a little bit to be desired, especially when they are busy. However, the bar service is fabulous. The atmosphere is wonderful - the restaurant is clean including thebathrooms. The bands they showcase are great.

best food in long island. Casual yet classy, warm and inviting, these are the adjectives that come to mind, and the most important one, delicious; I truly recommend this restaurant. try the Filet Mignon Barolo it is heavenly.

Great band, lousy food. I was amazed by the attitude of the patrons and the establishment alike. We had gone there to see a band that we were interested in, only to be distracted by loud bar patrons that presented like throw-aways from Brooklyn's 86th Street. The band was great, the food was lousy and the bathroom toilet seat nearly fell off its platform. Too bad for the band, they were great, hopefully they will find a better venue.

Will never go there again.. Decent food, but the service was so unreal I thought I was on Candid Camera. After pointing this out to the owner/manager, I was "serviced" with the most ignorant, unprofessional, "Well, we're really busy, we weren't expecting this" attitude. (Well, instead of walking around w/ your head up your a$$, help your servers, no?) People were getting up from their tables and leaving when the waiter disappeared for almost an hour. What a shame for an almost $200 night. Have never been more disrespected at any restaurant, ever-from Manhattan to South Beach to Sicily. Disgusting.
