Great spot for authentic Italian in a casual atmosphere. I recently dined at Matto during restaurant week and had a fabulous experience. The service was very accommodating and I found the food very fresh and simple Italian. I had a pasta with a fresh pesto that was simple and delicious. Other people in my party had the oven roasted fish and the homemade pastas. I finished my meal with a divine tiramisu. Beautiful decor and a great romantic spot!
RUDE RUDE RUDE STAFF.
TERRIBLE SERVICE.
If you can even get past the nasty hostess and the depressed staff. I had such a terrible experience that I never even sat because the staff was so rude from the moment I called to make a reservation to when I showed up and they tried to sit me out on the patio in the rain. I asked to be sat inside (which was empty sans two tables out of at least twenty) and I was told that for a party of three, we could only sit at a two top and they could pull up a chair for the third person..right next to the door to the patio.
I thought this would be my new local restaruant where I could take all my friends and clients and I will never go there again. The food may be good but I'll never know because they were so rude I had to turn and go down the street where I would be treated with respect. RUDE RUDE RUDE
