service good but food needs to inprove. Been to Majors 3x's first time for a burgur it was good but to small and overpriced,other two times had the the clams oreganato they were undercook,main course was the boneless ribeye ok with baked patatoe. meat was little tough. second time i had the same thing. forgot to mention that on both occasions me and wify got very sick to our stomach's,this happen shortly after leaving majors was fine before eating there. so be careful what you order i think the clams had something to do with it. service was good and food was served promply evenly spaced out. i think changes need to be made in handling of food in kitchen

I give Majors an E for "EFFORT" on the food. The steak was charred and appeared to be previously eaten, possibly by some of the kitchen help, but that's ok...they're hungry too, so i didnt mind sharing. Even less handsome than the "steak" was the overly-friendly, overly-loud/horny, manager with the "get me out of the '80's/ top gun crew cut". I don't know why his pants were so short, maybe the steam from the kitchen was too much...maybe not.
Cocktails at the bar were a laugh. It's probably really difficult to shake martinis well when you're unable to reach the bar, but i'm sure there's a phone book or something for him to stand on. I was really happy to be in the presence of a celebrity from "little people, big world", so i left a tip...a little tip.
What else is there to say? Ya gotta go to Majors and get some sloppy beef, and some attitude.
I think they should change the slogan to "Majors: sloppy beef, with an attitude".
All around great neighborhood steak place.
This is my first time at Citysearch. My first time at Majors was a few weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the Majors Steak, with garlic mashed potatos and corn on the cob. My husband had the same steak but had Wasabi mashed potatos. I prefer my steaks medium and it was prepared exactly that way. We were seated almost immediately and the food came out prepared to our satisfaction and tasted wonderful. Our server was right there should we need anything and was very knowledgeble.
For the quality and service I rate this among one of the best in the catergory of inexpensive.
We are going there again this evening in about 1 hour and I came online to get the phone number to see what time they serve until and decided to post a review.
good value for the money ,. I have been there many times and always enjoyed my dinner there. The drinks are very good also . Everything is reasonably priced and well prepared. The Sides are also recomended, especially the sauted mushrooms. The waiting time is not too long, and they have a good bar to pass the time.
Majorly Happy. Although you cannot make a reservation for two, the bar at Majors is a great place to kill some time. The bartenders are very cool and the drinks were stiff. The wait for two on a Friday night at 8pm was only twenty minutes and it was a prompt twenty at that. The NY strip is a great cut, and the chefs at Majors cooked it well. Our waiter was extremely nice and made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. The atmosphere is typical for a steak joint and all and all the place is a good alternative to treking into Manhattan to eat at the Palm or Angelo and Maxies. I recommend Major's to anyone living on L.I. and not going into Manhattan for dinner!
Major maybe... The food here is medicore. The steaks are nothing to get excited over but considering it's in long island it's considered satisfactory. THe only thing I can confidently recommend here is the burger, it's is nice and juicy and for 5 bucks you can't really go wrong. The service could have been MUCH better, my server was pretty slow but what bothered me most was the unfriendly staff as a whole.
