Liar Liar....
I'll start with the good - the pizza here is pretty decent. Unfortunately our experience was marred by deceptive business practices, false advertising, and overall poor customer service.
My boyfriend and I visited Via Italia based on a flyer distributed by them advertising a number of specials, including $9.99 Monday pizzas. The only stipulation on the coupon was that it needed to be a plain pie purchased on Monday, and that there was no combining of offers. Enough to grab our attention. Last Monday, we decided to give the place a try. When we arrived, we saw a big sign advertising the $9.99 Monday pizza, but it stated that it applied to carry out orders only. Problem right off the bat - there is nothing like a pizza straight out of the oven, so if we can't eat the pie fresh out of the fire right there, the place was going to be a no go. We figured that it would not be a big issue though. After all, we had a coupon that had no such stipulations. We had ordered the pie ahead of time so it would be ready when we got there, and we figured that we would pay in advance to make sure there would be no problem with the coupon. We came in, coupon clearly in hand, yet we were waived off and told to pay at the end of the meal. The guy behind the counter seemed friendly enough, and I figured that we would have no problem. With a coupon that clearly states $9.99 pizza on Monday how could we be denied, right? At the end of our meal, we attempted to pay but, when we displayed the coupon, he told us it was no good because we ate in. When we argued that there was no stipulation on the coupon requiring us to dine in, he pointed us to the sign outside and said that there was a misprint, and that it happens all the time. He explained that he would "let" us use the $2.00 off coupon though (it was ridiculous for him to act like that was a concession - it was another coupon with supposedly no limitations, so we should have been able to use it anyway). Now, we would be the first to admit that a $1 - $2 difference is not that substantial, but it is galling to think that this place would print a coupon, widely distribute it, and then refuse to honor it. Almost every establishment we have ever done business with has had the courtesy to honor coupons, even if they were misprints. The fact that this place would stick it to a customer over a couple of bucks is ridiculous, silly, and flat-out unprofessional.
So - final thoughts:
In our minds, there are just way to many pizza places in the area that offer pizza that is as good or better than this place at a similar price point for them to pull this type of nonsense. The place was absolutely empty, and yet they treated their only two customers that night poorly. If you are looking for a good slice or pie, try Olio or Taormina (both are under five minutes away). We will never be visiting again.
quick courteous service. Loved the delivery service option. Whig is rare these days. The pizza was standard, but the mozzeralla sticks were top notch.
A slice above.... Great Pizza, Great People, and Great Prices. What more could you ask for. I certainly recommend Primavera for a quick Pizza. Their Pizza Sauce has a sweet quality to it, making it better than most, and they are always friendly.
