BEST.HARDWARE.STORE.EVER!!.
Recently moved out to the island, and all the neighbors said this was the place to go, boy were they right! Fantastic selection, even for old homes ... they have everything. Recently replaced all the
electrical in the house and the guys at Karp's were fantastic. They had everything I needed and they were so amazingly helpful. Best of all, as a woman, they treated me just like "one of the guys". They respected that I knew what I was doing! Such a refreshing change from the "women don't belong in hardware stores" attitude I've encountered so often (even at the big retailers!). Next project is plumbing, not my specialty, but the guys at Karp's have already hooked me up with some local contractors who seem to be just right.
They do everything here, from cutting keys and cutting glass/screens/plexiglass to sharpening lawn mower blades and having the right oil burner part on Sunday afternoon!! Not to mention the great music and sports (football) on the big screen -- really, they have a music director and a sports director! Oh, and beer and wine making stuff ... I think I've got a new hobby! Honestly, this place is a dream!
I can't imagine ever shopping anywhere else.…
Best Hardware Store on Long Island.
No competition at all, this place is just the best hardware store on Long Island. A true old fashioned store ... wood floors, tin ceilings, bins and bins of screws, bolts, plumbing, electrical,
sprinkler, etc. fittings. Service is A-1 ... where else can you go with your broken sink drain and have someone tell you what you need and how to put it back together! Saved my butt on a Sunday when my sink sprung a bad leak. I've had keys cut, my screen door fixed (after the dog went through it), and they even cut a piece of plexiglass for me, so the dog can't run through the door anymore! I haven't found anything these guys don't do and do right. They even have kids who carry stuff to your car for you. You just don't find that kind of service anywhere.
They rent trucks, sell stuff to make beer and wine(!), and just do so many things. Try them out, you won't be sorry. And, on the weekends it's the place to go when the wife is nagging about the "honey-do" list. Head to the hardware store for supplies ... hang out, watch some football, talk sports with the sports director or music with the music director (I kid you not).…
