Wish I read these reviews before going
Total incompetency!! Very rude I had to go back 2x in a week then when I called up to speak to someone the provider did not hear a word I said. I canceled my apt for being a new patient since they can't fix my acute problem I am certainly not going to give them any business for any chronic issues. I hope someone with a voice over there reads these reviews maybe then they will not lose anymore patients.
Worst care, rudest staff and doctor's - and if you don't have health care insurance don't go here. You'll be left until there is no other human being left to be seen (they really should have 3 sign in sheets - appointments, walkins and no insurance). For $100 you're not going to see a doctor anyway - just a nurse practitioner that could care less. And yes, they will try to hold you up for as much in extra fees as they can. They wouldn't treat a sinus infection for me unless I had an EKG! Sorry - just didn't have another $100 with me - and had already been there for over 3 hours.
Friendly, Caring, and Professional Staff. As a drugstore/pharmacy manager (who hates going to the doctor) I was very happy with the service provided at this estabishment. I read some poor reviews that were posted about First Choice Medical but decided to give them a try anyway because of the convenient location. I am glad I did. Everyone was friendly and professional, and set me at ease. From the receptionist to technichians to the physichian's assistant, I felt that I was offered the same level of care that I try to provide for my patients and customers. I would definitely recommend First Choice Medical. -C
Changed for the Worse!. First off, I still adore Dr. Goldman; he is caring, well informed, and always concerned about his patients. Unfortunately, his staff has consistently gotten worse over the years. I have been going to First Choice for almost 17 years, in the last two years, I have found myself putting off my visits and giving STRONG consideration to finding another primary care office. There has been a number of staffing changes over the last few years, and almost all of it has been for the worse. The receptionists and PAs used to get to be pleasant and caring; they smiled at you, and inquired about your family and job. Now, they are almost without exception rude and disrespectful. I have on more than one occasion complained about the rudeness and apathy these "professionals" have displayed. The last time I went to the office, I saw a new and very curt PA who claimed she could not find any record of my prescription although as I mentioned, this has been my primary care for almost 17 years! When she found it(in the front of my FILE), she had the nerve to tell me that she would give it to me after I had a fasting blood test the next time I came. It was like she was holding the prescription hostage.I had a hard time keeping my temper as she talked to me like I was a 2nd grader throughout the visit. As i said previously, I adore Dr. Goldman, but he is hard to see and always busy. I don't like his staff, and really have only stayed because it would be such a hassle to change office.
The place was once good back in the 1990's , after that I don't know what the hell they were thinking .
My husband had gone for treatment requiring medication that made him quite sick , after calling day after I was put off with office will call at the end of day .
Wrong answer the visit was paid for & the patient needed a change in meds , not to be told they'd get to it at the end of the day.
Along with ordering medication for my daughter without checking her chart for any flags for allergy which could result in a life threatening situation . Ah Hello
We never returned to this office again Hello Dr. Goldman doctor of the year. should check in now & then to see what these so called pros are doing / discussing investments & in general not even acting as tho they were doctors . more like Kiddie Academy.
I went in on a Sunday 1 hour before closing. By the time I was seen it was ten minutes to closing. The PA was rushing me. He told me "we don't need to get into the details; I am leaving in 10 minutes". Excuse me, but I waited for treatment. I have no concern for his business after hours. He should have been more concern with my pain. Time to boost those bedside manners buddy!
A second time I went there for the same problem and a different PA, but I guess the same mentality runs ramped there (don't care for patients). I was shocked to see a sign outside for Dr. Goldman… (doctor of the year? what kind of paper work is submitted for a garbage title for that?)
Very Knowledgable, great care. I have been going to First Choice for a few years now, usually when I am not feeling well and for my check up every year. The staff there is very helpful, there are a few ladies at the front desk that should be kinder though. Although, there are a few ladies in particular that are very pleasant. Yes, it is aggravating to have to wait in the waiting room, sometimes for an hour or so, but that is the consequence to being seen at your own convenience. There are a few of the nurses that I like in paricualr, but there is one young one whom I do not care for at all, shes very short with you when you speak with her, even on the phone. I do not have a problem with any of the providers, they are very caring and knowledgable. I usually see one of the PAs when I am seen there and I consider them to be just as good as seeing one of the doctors! They listen to my concerns or questions and may prescribe something for it or discuss alternatives. I have no issues with this office, it is nice to be able to see my doctor when I am not feeling well, not to be penciled in next week when he has time for me!
All the good people are gone and the only people left don't know what they are doing....and are rude!. This used to be a pretty good office, and they used to have a handful of really smart and caring docs and especially good PAs. But not any more. Recently, all the good people seem to have left and the people working there now really don't care about what you say, don't seem to know what they are doing, and to make matters worse are just plain rude, especially one of the doctors and one of the new PAs! They sure seem overworked and uncaring, and the office staff are especially unhappy.
First Choice. The medical staff is very informative and helpful. The best part about going there is that I don't have to wait days to see a doctor. There is usually a wait to be seen, but I rather wait an hour and get treated today and get the medicine I need, than wait two of three days to see a doctor.
Dr. Herman is the best Dr. around. He is a teaching doctor at the college I graduated from, NYIT. Every time I go there he diagnoses me on the spot and educates me, he doesn't just throw pills at the problem and push me out. Also, he gives me free samples of prescriptions whenever possible so I can save some money.
When I go in there I rest assured that I am going to see a doctor that day, and I don't have to wait for office hours to get the care I need to help make me feel better. Yeah, there is a line.. and its kinda crappy that you have to wait in line, but thats the way they do business. They are a Primary Care Physician who takes walk-in's - They are not a Clinic! Even though you have to wait, it's the closest thing to instant gratification as far as seeing doctors go. I have found the nurses at the front desk to be a little icy, but they deal with angry people who don't want to wait on lines day in and day out, I'd be a little cold to it too after a while.
Personally, I like going in and taking care of what I need, and getting out.. I do not want to wait till next Thursday between 12:30 and 2pm when my doctor has time for me.
