DECENT FOOD-LOUSY SERVICE.
We had been regular customers of Majors since they opened dining with them at least once a month. The operative words here are "had been" as unfortunately this relationship ended with our last visit due to a boorish lout of a server. This young punk decided he didn't like us and therefore decided to ignore us. The manager rather than stepping in and taking charge had to finish taking our order and bus people served our meal while this wonderful example of Majors employment proceeded to pass us without so much as a glance, making dinner a long uncomfortable experience. To make matters worse I took the time to write a letter to Majors which they proceeded to ignore. I guess the loss of 4 diners is of no importance to Majors. Unfortunately, since I own a local retail store I speak to thousands of people yearly and Majors does come into my stories. To throw away customers like this is just stupid. I'm glad that Majors is so successful that they don't need good recommendations anymore. In any case, we will no longer be dining there.............
Unfortunately this place is over the hill.
My wife and I have been majors customers for many years and until last night we would visit about 6 times a year. In the beginning everything was very good, the steaks were great especially the Majors house special 24 oz. ribeye. The sirloin was my second favorite with their prime ribs a close third. We have observed a decline in quality of their meat over the past year but last night was "THE END". We took our 2 grandsons, 9 &7, there for dinner as they like Majors. I tried to select a steak from their meat display and everything was loaded with fat and grizzle. I could not believe they actually had that meat in their display case but there it was. I decided to go with choice #3 and went for the prime rib and my grandsons ordered and shared the same. My wife decided to forgo the fatty steak and went with pork chops for the first and last time. I ordered a baked potato which was the smallest potato I have ever been served in any restaurant. My wife had the same and her's was equally small and our grand sons had the fries which were very good. Both prime ribs were loaded with fat. Maybe we had 6 ounces of good meat in each steak but it was done as ordered and tasty. My wife said her pork was dry and tough. The up side of our last dining experience at Majors is our server was friendly and did his job well. I do believe the regular customers are getting tired of inferior food as last night was a Friday, in July and it wasn't too long ago there would be at least a 30 minutes wait. Last night, no wait, no line, empty tables... It sad but I guess it's their way of compensating for the bad economy. Unfortunately I feel: To compromise the quality they were known for is to give up what made Majors great. They are no longer great, in fact they are no longer decent. They are bad.
