Chinese Yes, Japanese NO. Dinner at Jani's was AWFUL. The service was slow and unintelligible. The food was flat out WRONG, and there just wasn't anything positive about the dining experience. First off, they shouldn't promote themselves as a Japanese restaurant if they are not going to serve Japanese food. They simply decided to make things the way they wanted, as an example "Katsu-don" is by definition a cutlet (Katsu) over a bowl of rice (Don-buri), traditionally, the cutlet is covered in egg and onions. Jani's "Katsu-don" is a plate of fried pork cutlet. No rice, no egg, no onions with a side of some sort of soup. I asked why this happened and they told me that "this is our katsu-don". I explained that I had thought that I was getting something different and that "katsu-don" by definition is not what they gave me. I was told "it's on menu" and the server left. I was aghast and ate the pork as the server only returned 20 minutes later with the check. The sushi was not good either. The "Tamago" was rubbery, and clearly had been sitting out for too long. Additionally, when you order "Tamago" it comes as a piece of nigiri, and is seldom to never offered as sashimi. Jani insisted that it was sashimi. IT's NOT. The General's Delight was fine, and the tea was actually good. Shame on me for thinking that a Chinese restaurant would be able to make Japanese food. Shame on you for trying this terrible restaurant. For the money you will spend, you should go elsewhere and at least be treated kindly.

Great Portions! GREAT HOST!. The portions of food was excellent! But if you are going to get Meat food - stick to the Chinese side than the Japanese side. The Chicken Teriyaki wasn't that great but all of the Chinese food was wonderful! The sushi, sashimi, and rolls were Rocking! Very Tasty. The Host, Alex (?) made us feel very welcomed and made sure that we had everything we needed. He always came by to check on all the guests.

Bad Food and Worst Service. This is the worst chienese food I ever had. The local chienese food places and much better than this place and much cheaper. I went there with 3 friends and ordered apitizers, soup and entrees. It took them 20 minutes and then they brought everything all togather. Soup was okay and everything else was bad and had no flavour. None of us liked this place.
