I had been going to Boulder Creek for over 10 years since the food was always on the good side (not great) and it was close to home. I have found both the food and service terribly lacking lately. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes it's served cold and definitely some of the recipes have changed (or the chef), either way not for the better. I've even had to send back steaks that weren't cooked to order- well done is hard to mess up but when you get it super rare, you have to wonder. But the service is what will prevent me from going back. At best it's mediocre. Often times you'd have to wait to get a drink refill or get steak sauces. They have an awful system of having one person take the order, 2 or more people bringing the salads and entrees and yet different people to bring the check. You don't know who to flag over if you need help, and they certainly don't stop by regularly to see how things are. How does one figure out a tip then if you have a few awful waiters and maybe one competent one? The last time I went there, the place was rather empty, yet I had to actually get up and go to the bar to get my own drink and nobody came over to see if I needed or wanted anything else. I never ever complain at a restaurant but I had to call the manager over and tell her what a travesty the experience was. She comped the meal and my first waitress came over and lamely apologized (no doubt under the order of the manager, but you could tell she couldn't care less) but I'm done. The food is not that good to warrent me going back. They really need to re-examine how they do things or they will be yet another restaurant who closes their doors.

My husband and three young kids, and I stopped for dinner. The food, service, drinks were absolutely fabulous! The entire team of staff seemed truly interested in pleasing the patrons. The drinks were nice and creative. I am looking forward to going back really soon! (And by the way, nothing was over-priced! Best of all!! )
