Needs a a major overhall. In it's prime this was the hottest spot on Long Island . My father took me her several times when I was young . In the 1990's the complex was really showing it's age. Durning a recent trip back east ,I had hoped that things had changed .SORRY they had not!!!. The view of the ocean is Great but the owners need to make a MAJOR overhall of the complete complex,to regain it's Grand Luster. The food is only Fair.It really hurts me me to have to say this, but sometimes the truth hurts. I only Hope that the owner see this and fix the problems ,or sell the place to someone that can.

User review by jjaa. this resort is expensive. i can definately see steps being a problem. however, every summer i stay in one of the cottages and i absolutely love it! i step out the front door to a porch and down a few steps and i'm right on the beach i could stay there forever! i love the spa! recently, the food in both the restaurant and cafe has gotten so much better. however, i would probably not recommend this resort for business travelers because you may not want to leave or have time to appreciate everything it has to offer.

Worst hotel experience ever. This is an expensive hotel, starting at $300 a night. It has one of the worst hotel restaurants I have ever experienced, serving canned food and diluted fruit juice. The nautical theming is stuck in the 1970s and everything from the bottled water ($4) to massages ($60 for a half hour) is overpriced. The service is extremely patchy and the layout of the hotel makes it difficult to get to the beach from your room without facing the nautical nightmare. I would strongly avoid anyone under the age of 60 visiting this passe beach location.
