Beware! – We paid Bob Stevens thousands and thousands of dollars five months ago and are still living in a house without a refrigerator and other appliances that have been paid for. We have left countless messages, and never been called back. If by chance we reach Bob himself, he apologizes profusely, makes another promise about delivery, then nothing ever shows up.
We have been given the run around non-stop by this company, no-one ever has the time to talk to us. We have come to the conclusion that his business is in trouble and we were unlucky enough to be the ones who got ripped off.
We are complaining about him wherever we can, but are totally sick and tired of the whole process. How can people like this still be in business? It's just unbelievable. We have a another big load of appliances to order for another home, but would not go near this crook ever again...
RUN to PC Richards Instead – I had been a longstanding fan of Bob Stevens Appliances having bought stainless professional outdoor grills, all the high-end appliances for a Hamptons kitchen renovation (Sub-zero, Viking, etc) so when it came time to do another high end kitchen renovation, this time in NYC, I went back to BSA for a Meile built-in refrigerator, diswasher, sub-zero wine cooler, microwave, etc. A fiasco from the start. They twice didnt call me back when I was trying to arrange delivery. At one point they couldn't find me in the computer. I asked in 4 different phone calls to have a receipt faxed so I could simply have my order number for when I called and that took over a week to accomplish. Each time I called it was as if I was starting over. Then they promised delivery on a date (I took the day off) and they never showed. I called and they couldnt explain what happened (I had the name and time of who I talked to etc.). Then a senior manager became involved and things got worse. The Meile refrigerator arrived heavily damaged and for 2 weeks BSA tells me they have called Meile and that the rep is supposed to call me (Yet BSA never gives me the name or number of the Meile rep). I have twice called to get the missing microwave delivered - Finally, BSA promised on a Thursday to have someone deliver it to Sag Harbor today (Saturday). I was making it easy for them and I was going to carry it back to the city myself. I had been waiting until noon so I just called to confirm and was told by BSA that they forgot (again!). Something has happened since I last bought from them... a total lack of professionalism and seemingly chaotic management. When I started experiencing this I also needed two large in-wall airconditioners and a Jenn-Air downdraft range which BSA does not carry so I went to PC Richards a few weeks ago. I was met with informed, professional salespeople, a flawless delivery team who called to arrange and confirm, who delivered in two days and within the time window I requested, all at a good price. I would have saved countless hours of aggravation by skipping Bob Stevens. Unfortunately, I still have to talk to them every couple days until my $5,000 refrigerator is fixed or replaced! Save yourself and run run run to PC Richards first. You will probably see that the prices are actually about the same.
Good Prices, Great Service – Use to go to the chain stores but after using Bob Stevens, I found that the prices are just as competitive. When I had a service need they went above and beyond what I would ever expect. The sales staff were very helpful and they had the selection I was looking for. Delivery and installation were performed without a hitch. Over the years I have purchased all my laundry and kitchen appliances through Bob Stevens so my review is based on many purchase experiences over the past several years.
Not to be trusted – all the appliances at my house were bought at Bob Stephens appliances ~ $ 20,000 worth.
One of the 3 Washing machines we bought was delivered and installed without removing the "transport brackets"...the machine never worked properly until many hundreds of $ and service calls later the problem was discovered.
I insisted to have the last service call paid by Bob Stephens. Despite weekly calls which were never returned I was never paid....read below and see the proof
I am now going to the BBB then small court. These people should not be trusted .do not conduct business with them
